During “Eid al-Adha”: the suffering of the oil institutions’ workers from the issues regarding the transport in the city of “Hassi Messaoud”, in Algeria

Several workers of some national oil companies in the area of "Hassi Massoud" complained about the lack of means of transport in “Eid al-Adha”, in a large number of these companies’ workshops. This led to their inability to join their families, especially workers who move from workshops to the city of “Hassi Messaoud” during compensatory holidays.

In “Hassi Messaoud”, there are dozens of companies active in the field of hydrocarbons, which have been working since the seventies to the present day, where the number of workshops and workers in these institutions has increased significantly, during the recent years. In this context, these workers suffer from numerous obstacles, especially at the level of workshops and the means of transport.

The workers of these institutions also suffer from a shortage and significant delay in the availability of air transport because of the Eid holidays, although these lines are paid in advance. However, the main reason is the absence of workers of these institutions, despite the end of their holidays. Thus, it led to the delay in the exit of the compensatory workers which was due to several reasons, including the lack of means of transport, in addition to the deliberate delay of workers to return to their work despite the end of their holidays. In fact, most of them postponed their work until the third or fourth day after the holidays. Most of these oil institutions granted its workers a paid holiday of three days, which has further exacerbated the situation.
