The General Federation of Jordanian Trade Unions refuses the increase in the medical fees

The General Federation of Jordanian Trade Unions and trade unions expressed their indignation and concern over the recent unjustified increase in the medical fees by the Medical Syndicate, at a time when the Jordanian citizens suffer from financial difficulties and difficult economic conditions. The union was surprised by what it called "the paradox” of the Medical Syndicate, which was at the forefront of the popular and national movement, in rejection of the previous income tax law, and denouncing the economic conditions of the country, which contributed by its turn to the aggravation of these conditions and the difficult circumstances.

The union stressed in its statement its rejection of these measures, which did not take into account the conditions of poor people, as it was supposed to be the first union to stand at the forefront of alleviating the daily suffering of people, and not be a burden on them and their modest income.

It also declared its opposition to these decisions and considered them as irresponsible and inhumane ,and "based on the principles of greed and selfishness at the expense of others' illnesses and pains … and a random decision that did not take into account the real circumstances of people and their living conditions."

In its statement, the union called for the cancellation of this decision, expressing its hope that the union would initiate humanitarian initiatives that would alleviate the economic suffering of citizens before alleviating their physical pain and "serves a models in helping others not at the expense of the poor people."
