The problem of the daily contractors and wages’ workers in the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity is still like it is, as hundreds of them protested last Thursday in front of the building of the Maysan council to settle their professional positions and to ask for their permanent recruitment, in addition to receive the risk allowance.
The protesters carried banners calling for their inclusion in the provisions of the Labor Law No. 37 of 2015 and the law of retirement and social security, for workers No. 39 of 1971 to guarantee their legitimate rights and their non-expulsion by the administrations of companies of the Ministry of Electricity.
Moreover, the workers threatened to enter into a protest, including a general strike in case that their demands are not met.
It is noteworthy that the employees of the Ministry of Electricity protest from time to time in various Iraqi provinces to express their refusal of the violation of their rights.
