Tunisia: The prime ministry workers protest to defend their trade union rights and the credibility of collective bargaining

The prime ministry workers launched a strike, yesterday, in all the work headquarters of the prime ministry, condemning the violation of the trade union right and the disregard of their demands and the previously concluded agreements by the administrative interests of the prime ministry.

“Sami Bounenni”, the general secretary of the fundamental union of the workers and officials of the presidency of the government, said in media statements that the professional and social situation became tense because of the administration non-commitment to the record of the agreement concluded last July, which led to the postponement of the strike that was expected to be held on 12 July and the agreement on its implementation and follow-up for a month, which was ignored by the administrative side.

The spokesman stressed that the prime ministry workers were forced to carry out their strike after they had noticed the lack of seriousness in the implementation of an agreement that included clear simple points which would not lead to financial repercussions, compared to what has been achieved in a number of other ministries, considering that this is a violation of the trade union right and an infringement of the principles and literature of the collective bargaining.

It noteworthy that the trade union party called for the implementation of what was agreed upon on 11 July 2018, especially in regard of the issuance of the administrative fundamental system in the prime ministry in addition to the creation of a list to classify workers and the issuance of titles in the career plans.
