Egypt: The trade union committees in the electricity sector in Minya and Suez call on the Prime Minister to meet and discuss the dilemma of special allowance

The trade union committee of workers in the electrical transmission networks sector in Minya submitted an official request to the Prime Minister to negotiate the implementation of the provisions of the unified labor law No. 12 of 2003.

The members of the trade union committee of workers in the electrical transmission networks in Minya confirmed the rejection of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company and the Egyptian Company for the transfer of electricity to grant workers the special allowance approved by the law, which was the government decision in order to cope with the increasing prices and it was approved by parliament and issued by the Republican Decree Law 96 of 2018 granting all employees in the state a special allowance and an exceptional renumeration added to the basic salary of workers starting from the salary of July.

For its part, the trade union committee of workers of the East Delta Company for the production of electricity in the Suez, Red Sea, North and South Sinai and the trade union committee of workers of electricity transmission networks in Suez requested to negotiate for the payment of their special allowances.
