Labor protests in one of the biggest companies in Saudi Arabia are forcing the authorities to oblige the administration to pay the workers’ late financial dues

Following the protest, which was carried out by about 90 migrant workers in one of the biggest companies in “Al-Jawf” in Saudi Arabia, last week, to ask for the payment of workers’ delayed wages for more than 6 months, the inspection department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development in “Al-Jawf” forced the company's management to adhere to the implementation of the work regulations.

The protestors submitted an official complaint to the labor office stating that their salaries had been delayed, which led the office to identify a number of violations according to the Ministerial Resolution No. 4786 of paragraph 29, dealing with the non-payment of workers' wages on time.

The director of the inspection department affirmed that the company's official had been contacted and called for granting all the employees of the project their financial rights, in addition to their provision with a suitable accommodation, which includes all the services, to end the strike and return workers again to their work.

The inspector stressed that the ministry had warned of the delay of the workers’ wages, considering that it is contrary to the work system, and it is an explicit violation that requires accountability, in accordance with the provisions of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development.
