“Noureddine Tabboubi”, the secretary-general of the Tunisian General Union of Labour (UGTT), said in a press statement about the meeting between the National Executive Office of the Union and the government on Thursday that it was agreed that the Prime Minister would announce on July 6 the increase in the minimum guaranteed wage.
“Tabboubi” said in a press statement, following his attendance at the start of the social negotiations at the government palace in “Kasbah” that the session aims at activating the social dialogue in accordance with the agreement issued on November 27, 2017 on the fragile work, workers of barns, adult education and the selected by security, pointing out that it was reached to set deadlines for resolving these problems during the next week and before 6 July.
He pointed out that the question of the purchasing power of workers that have deteriorated significantly and the agreement to return to serious negotiations for the completion of the maintenance of social stability on 10 July.
For the pensioners belonging to the National Pension Fund and Social Insurance, he said that legal problems will be settled during the next week at the latest to provide them with their dues.
The Secretary-General of the working organization of the working had said earlier that the continuation to negotiate on social files do not contradict with the union's commitment to change the government, adding that it is one of the UGTT choices to balance its social and national role.
