The Houthis kidnap dozens of workers in “Dhamar” province, in Yemen

The Yemeni news agency “Al-Mashhad Al-Yemeni” reported from local sources “Dhamar” province that the Yemeni militias kidnapped dozens of passengers, most of them are laborers, and took them to their prisons in the province.

The Houthis have imposed severe restrictions on the movement of travelers and has kidnapped dozens of them (mostly workers) at the checkpoints on the public roads between "Dhamar" and other provinces.

The sources stressed that the militia requires travelers to bring transit permits by their supervisors in the regions and districts where the person is traveling and to provide them with detailed information about their work, in order to be allowed to travel.

According to eyewitnesses, the travelers were subjected to arbitrary practices and serious violations in the militia points between kidnappings and threats of those who prevented them from traveling and forced them to return to “Dhamar”.

The sources also confirmed that the citizens who were kidnapped were on their way to their headquarters after the Eid holiday. Some of them work in the "Qat" farms in “Radaa,” or the construction workers and shop owners in “Radaa” and “Al Baida”, “Marib” and” Hadramout”.
