The independent coordination of the Algerian resident doctors called for the resumption of protests and the organization of a strike that is supposed to be launched on Saturday, July 14 at the university hospital Mustafa Pasha.
The coordination committee condemned in its statement the policy of threats and intimidation practiced against resident doctors by a number of heads of hospital departments since the decision to suspend the strike and return to work for two weeks without any reaction from the supervisory authority.
Other regional protests are likely to take place in Oran, Annaba and Constantine, stressing their continuing struggle to achieve their legitimate demands.
