Following the protests asking for better living conditions: a great anger in the southern provinces of Iraq and security uses live bullets on protestors

The police in Bassorah killed one person and other were wounded on Sunday, following the firing of bullets to disperse dozens of protesters, who were protesting against the rising of the unemployment rate, the lack of municipal services and irregular electricity, water and other basic services near the city of Bassorah.

The wave of anger and popular demonstrations increase in the provinces of central and southern Iraq; to protest against the poor and bad services, and the continued power outages with a high temperature, which exceeded 52 Celsius in a number of areas.

The protest also expanded in Basra, to include cities like "Qibla" and "Al-Medina", after the "Karma Ali", which witnessed the death of one person and the injury of four others in the shooting of police forces on protestors.

These demonstrations spread to the province of "Maysan" in the south of the country, where hundreds gathered in night demonstrations, asking for the improvement of basic services, notably electricity. In addition, there were also protests in the city of "Kout" the center of “Waist” province and the "market of the Senate”. They cut most of the streets of the city; to ask for the improvement of electricity services, in addition to the provinces of "Babylon" and "Najaf," threatening to launch wider protests, and resort to various escalation options, in case their sufferings with electricity and the deterioration of basic services continue.

The electricity crisis in Iraq is a source of great public anger, especially in the southern provinces, which showed data from international stations whose temperatures rise to more than 52 Celsius degrees, according to observers.

A number of social network pages were circulating pictures and videos of popular protests in the central and southern governorates of Iraq.

The General Federation of Iraqi workers Trade Unions has condemned the attempts to kill the protestors and violate the constitutional right to peaceful protest, calling for the punishment of the perpetrators and respect for the right of citizens to have a decent life.
