A number of civilians were injured on Friday, following the attacks by the Iraqi police on the protesters in the province of "Maysan" in the far south of Iraq.
Some of the Iraqi cities, including Karbala, Nasiriyah, Najaf and Amara, witnessed protests on Friday against the poor services and power cuts.
Basra is also witnessing for the eighth day in a row a popular protest to ask for the improvement of the conditions of electricity, the provision of potable water and to put an end to unemployment by providing jobs for the youth.
The protests have escalated in the province after the police firing of last week to disperse dozens of protesters near the field west of "Quarna 2”, which led to the killing one person and the injury of three others.
