Morocco / Tahla: Local workers are angry over the delay in compensations

The local office of the National Union of Local Employees in Tahla of the Moroccan National Trade Union decided to enter into a series of protests in response to what it considered as the non-adherence to the promises agreed upon with the chairmanship of the collective council regarding the payment of compensation to everyone from February.

The workers call also for the granting of compensation for hard works and works in polluted environment for workers classified at the lower levels of 6 to 9.

Yesterday, the workers organized a protest outside the “Tahla” group headquarters and are expected to carry out a strike starting on 20 June for 48 hours, accompanied by an hour-long protest on the second day of the strike outside the group's headquarters.

They will also hold another protest in front of the headquarters of the group this month, followed by a two-day strike starting from 27 June and a protest in front of the Tahla headquarters on the morning of the second day of the strike.

In a communiqué, the workers of the local groups accuse the chairmanship of the collective council and the authority for holding the responsibility of the future consequences of this situation.
