A group of young Moroccans entered in a hunger strike on 13 June at an institution to house foreign immigrants in Madrid's “Aluche” municipality, asking for their non-deportation to the kingdom.
The SOS RACISMO organization, which is concerned with the issue of foreign migrants, confirmed that young Moroccans decided to enter in a hunger strike to denounce the Spanish authorities' rejection of their asylum applications upon their arrival in the Spanish territory and were deprived of their right of international protection.
The organization highlighted that the Committee for the support of rural mobility in Spain confirmed the arrival of many rural youth to the Spanish soil through the smuggled boats of migrants before the return of some of them to Morocco and the transfer of others to the shelters.
