The management of “the Arab Pulovara" Spinning and Weaving Company in Alexandria punished the workers because of entering into strike on 20 May, which lasted 8 days, protesting against the formation of the board of directors of the union through elections, after banning and threatening any worker intending to run.
The administration took into consideration the days of strike between absence and leave at the expense of workers.
The factory workers confirmed that since September, they have not received their salaries, and the work in the company has been suspended, and workers protested in front of the gate of the Ministry of Investment until the payment of two months of their salaries are paid out of the disaster fund, along with the non-payment of their financial dues since 2014.
The Arab Spinning and Weaving Company "Pulovara" was established in 1968 to specialize in the manufacture, marketing and trade of cotton yarn, silk, wool, linen and synthetic fibres. It also carried out the Agency's commercial activities inside Egypt, exporting, importing and agencies. It used to achieve very large profits before entering into a spiral of economic crises which is continuing until today.
