The Algerian National Resident Coordinating Office of the Algerian Resident Physicians issued a statement announcing the retreat of the decision to return to emergency shifts, which was scheduled to resumed since last Wednesday, two months after the boycott.
The National Office confirmed that this retreat comes after confirming the intentions of the Ministry of Health, which dishonoured its promises to return to dialogue in case of the suspension of the strike to come out with new conditions aimed at breaking the protests of resident doctors.
In the same context, resident doctors condemned the practices of the management of the " Lamine Debaghine" hospital, where the head of the department of Orthopaedics excluded the protester resident doctors from practising their right to strike by sending a list of their names to the General Directorate of the hospital, in a clear violation of the principle of freedom to strike.
