The Algerian Minister of Labour continues his perseverance and insists on denying the fact that trade union freedoms have been restricted in the country

The Algerian Minister of Labour continues his policy of escaping by insisting on denying the reality of restrictions on trade union freedoms in Algeria and denying the existence of any problem between Algeria and the International Labour Organization, pointing out that the problem is currently linked to the organization's standards committee, which is trying to exert pressure on member States, according to him.

In a press statement, the minister accused a member of the SNAPAP syndicate and another lawyer of being responsible of the nomination of Algeria in the list of restrictions on trade union freedoms since 2011, reiterating his insistence that his government "guarantees the right of trade unions and strike by law and does not restrict trade union freedoms."

It is noteworthy that the International Organization for Standardization has decided to send a commission to investigate the violation of trade union freedoms in Algeria, but the government has refused.
