The Alexandria Security Directorate reported that 10 workers were suffocated on last Saturday following a leak of ammonia gas at a food factory in the industrial area of Burj Al Arab, west of Alexandria, where the state of emergency was raised at Burj Al Arab and “Al-Amriya” hospitals to receive the injured.
The directorate said in a statement that the accident resulted from the emission of ammonia gas did not result in fires, noting that the state of emergency was raised in “Al-Amriya” and Burj al-Arab hospitals to receive the injured.
Two of the wounded were taken to Burj al-Arab hospital and treated at the site.
