The Spanish police was able to arrest the first suspect in the case of sexual harassment of the Moroccan workers in strawberry fields in Spain.
The arrest comes a few days after the Moroccan Minister of Labour refusal to admit the existence of harassment cases against migrant working women and after the opening of an official investigation about this issue by the Spanish public prosecutor.
According to Spanish media, the accused is 47 years old and is a production manager in a farm in Huelva (Western of Spain), where 11,000 Moroccan seasonal workers work.
The latest information indicated that migrant working women filed complaints to the Spanish police, in which they accused their boss of sexually assaulting them. He was heard at the Huelva court and released until the completion of the investigations.
