The Bahrain Labour Court commits a bank to pay 52,000 dinars to an Asian director who has been arbitrarily dismissed from work

The Bahrain's largest labour court ordered a Bahraini bank to pay a sum of 52,000 dinars to an Asian employee, in addition to an end-of-service certificate and a 6 percent of interest rate for the first six months after the end of service. On the other hand, the same court did not accept the employee's dismissal stating that: "The employer may terminate his employment contract without compensation if the worker reaches the age of 60 unless the parties agree otherwise."

In fact, it has all started since September 2007, the bank has employed him to manage the implementation of the strategy project with a monthly salary of JD 4,134 under an indefinite employment contract. In December 2014, the bank dismissed this Asian worker without specific reason or legal justification. Consequently, this led him to file a lawsuit asking for the compensation for his arbitrary dismissal, which amounted to 28 thousand dinars, according to the Bahraini Labour Law.
