The journalists and workers of the "Shams FM" radio station has been forced to carry out their strike since yesterday, which will continue until Thursday, after the disregard of the concerned authorities of the demands stated by the union.
In our previous newsletter, we pointed out that the trade union party had been flexible and sober, as it decided to postpone the strike for more serious and responsible consultation and negotiation.
The main union of the radio accused the supervision authorities, headed by the Ministry of Finance and the Prime Minister, of ignoring the workers' demands among which: The participation of the syndicate party in the process of leaving the institution and signing the agreement of the institution before the leaving of the confiscated radio, as well as resolving the status of journalists and contractor workers and oblige the government to meet its financial pledges to the institution.
It is noteworthy that "Shams FM" radio station was owned by one of the relatives of the ousted President “Zain Al-Abidine Ben Ali”, and was confiscated during the Tunisian revolution in 2011, and is currently preparing to sell, but without associating with the union’s party and without fixing their privileges and gains before the process of confiscation. This lead to the 3-days strike by the radio journalists and workers.
