Activists in the social networking sites announced their launch of campaigns to reject the new taxes imposed on Algerians to extract the national identity documents brought in by the complimentary finance bill of 2018.
The "campaigns" were spread in the Facebook pages, calling on the government to refrain from its decision to impose high fees on the administrative documents, as before this bill it has been free of charges. Considering the new procedure as illogical, as activists wrote on their pages: “We are not going to buy our identity documents because we are full-blooded Algerians.”, in a move to express their rejection of taxes.
In a similar campaign to the one that called for the boycott of car purchases in Algeria, "let it rust," activists announced a campaign to boycott documents that prove national identity, under the title "leave it to you" i.e. "I will not extract new documents as long as the government is imposing taxes on them."
In this regard, many experts criticized the provisions of the complementary finance bill for 2018, which will be adopted by the government during the second half of this year, to finance the public treasury.
In fact, the cost of the national electronic biometric identity card is 2.000 Dinars and will be issued for 2,500 Dinars. For the biometric electronic passport, the cost is estimated at 6,000 Dinars for the 28-page form (and it will be handed over for 10,000 Dinars) The 48-page form (which will be handed over for 50,000 Dinars) While the government confirmed that the passport due to the emergency procedure will result in a higher cost. The passport of 28 pages will cost 25,000 Dinars and the 48-page passport will be for 60,000 Dinars. This will result in a delivery price of 50,000 Dinars and 150,000 Dinars, according to the model.
The cost of preparing the electronic biometric driving license is estimated at 10,000 Dinars and the cost of the car numbering card is 20,000 Dinars.
