Egypt – Workers of the Egyptian Spinning and Weaving Company in the industrial area of El Sadat City, Menoufia Governorate, continued their strike for the third day in a row to demand the increase of salaries, the disbursement of special annual profits, the increase of meal allowances, the disbursement of the social allowances approved by the state in spite of the rising prices. One of the workers confirmed that the owner of the company refused to implement the increase of the duplicate premium from the state last July, and that the maximum salary in the company is 1800 pounds for those who passed 10 years in the company: said our right in this company is wasted due to the management acts.” The workers demanded Dr. Hisham Abdel Basset Governor of Monofia to intervene to speed the end of the problem and the application of salary increase in accordance with the equality of the other company, especially that working in textile factories caused many serious chest diseases, and that they are in an open continuous sit – in until all their demands are fulfilled.
