Egypt: A lawyer confirms that a public transport worker is still being held waiting for the national security, despite his release nine days ago

Egypt – Omar Mohammed, a lawyer of the Arabic Network for Human Rights Information, said Ayman Abdel Tawab, a worker of the Public Transport Authority, was still being held illegally in the “Zawia” section, despite a decision to release him from the Criminal Court on March 23.

 

He added to the start, the disable of the worker’s exist is due to waiting for the signal of the national security, noting that in the event of delay he will be submitted to the Attorney General and the Minister of the Interior.

 

Mohammed pointed out that the other worker in the public transport Mohammed Abdul Khaliq has been discharged since yesterday and is now at his home.

 

The Cairo Criminal Court, 21, decided on March 23 to release all Mohamed Abdul Khaliq Awadallah and Ayman Abdel Tawab Salem, workers of the Public Transport Authority, with precautionary measures. In case No. 745 of 2016, for inciting strikes and belonging to a group established contrary to the law.
