Egypt – A state of anger has gripped the 2,500 workers of education in Qaliubiya as they have not been paid for six months. Workers say that education officials have been neglecting their demands and difficult conditions they live and the wave of high prices.
Mahmoud Hamed al-Sayyed, an employee in ALthawra School in Benha, said that he has been appointed for 10 years on the provincial funds with a salary reached to 850 pounds, two years ago they were surprised by the delay of their salaries for a period of seven to eight months. He supports a family of five and he always borrows money to be able to provide his family with the basic needs.
Hanan Ali Abu al-Saud, an employee in Benha, said she and her colleagues did not get paid for more than 6 months now, asking how a simple worker live without pay even though we suffer from chronic illnesses and need treatment every week. .
