The Minister of Labor and Social Development, Chairman of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), Jameel Humaidan, announced that a new form will be issued soon, including workers representatives from the labor unions on the board of the General Authority for Social Insurance.
The minister said in a meeting with a local newspaper that the cases of dismissal and complaints of delayed payment of wages in Bahrain are individual cases that do not amount to describing the phenomenon, which are normal cases in all societies, stressing that the Minister takes all necessary measures to secure the rights of workers.
The minister revealed a practical step led by the ministry, funded by the Tamkeen Fund, to support a package of projects that will transform the slogan of linking the outputs of education to the requirements of the labor market to a practical reality, including the National Observatory for Employment, Professional Standards, Professional Levels and the Vocational Guidance and Guidance Scheme in 2018 to become a reality.
These projects will set standards for the profession and will help to evaluate wages with real efficiency through training programs for each profession that enables private institutes and training institutions to graduate students with professional degrees that will enable us to know their position in the market and their wages, he said.
The minister announced the project to establish a center to measure the skills of workers, noting that the skills of foreign workers will be tested as well as the employers request for that, pointing out that the date of the launch of the flexible permit system will be during the next month, pointing out that he will undergo an evaluation study after 6 months to measure the success.
