Yemen- A worker from the government sector in Yemen tried to burn himself to death on Saturday for not getting his salary for several months. . Local sources in Dhamar province controlled by the Huthis, said that the protesting employee poured petrol on his body in front of the local authority building in Tammar before the citizens extinguished the burning flames in his body. The sources said that the citizens transferred the employee to a nearby hospital immediately, while still alive, amid a critical health condition. Yemeni government officials suffer from delayed salaries for more than four consecutive months as armed conflict in Yemen is ongoing. The Yemeni government accuses the Houthi rebels of looting the Central Bank of Yemens treasury in Sanaa and allocating huge amounts of reserves to what they call the war effort.
