Egypt_ Workers in a petrochemical plant in the South Port Said industrial zone have announced a management grant that they decided to dispense with the efforts, describing it as a convincing bribe to buy their votes on the dismissal of three of their colleagues on the board of directors of the trade union committee.
Workers confirmed that the management of the company published the grant decision two hours before the dismissal of the three union members, stressing that it is a usual style of management to contain the anger of workers when they feel any threat from the termination of the work of some of their colleagues.
The workers said that what was done with their unionists is a crime against everyone, especially since there are binding agreements signed since 2011 and warned against harming trade union organization and its members, and follow the legal methods towards violators if they exist and maintain the safety of workers.
The management of the petrochemical plant, one of the Indian investments in the industrial zone south of Port Said, issued a decision to dismiss three workers from the board of directors of the trade union committee in the factory on the pretext of leaking news about the site witnessed by leaks of gases during the past few days, which almost caused an environmental disaster and accuse them of instigating workers on strike.
The decision came to re-establish the clash between the administration and the workers in the factory after it had calmed down over the past three years after signing agreements to reconcile the situation between the administration and workers, which guaranteed workers rights in salaries, profits and safety and occupational health.
