Egypt – Egypt – Security forces arrested 9 workers at the “Egypt Telecom” in Ramses after organizing a protest in front of company. The al-Azbekiya prosecution accused the workers of obstructing the work and decided to detain them for 4 days pending investigations. Telecom Egypt employees demanded Ahmed Al-Behairi, the companys managing director and CEO, to intervene to release their colleagues, asserting that their demands are legitimate. Some of the workers threatened to hold a protest on Monday in the case of continued imprisonment of their colleagues, and others protested in front of the prosecution to demand their release. The workers include: Mumin Abbas, Said Salah, Mohammed Magdi, Ashraf Fawzi, Sayed Aboul Gheit, Mahmoud Fathallah, Reza Farrag and Mohamed Ahmed Ismail from Ramses and Osama Farid working in Suez Central.
