Palestine: Gaza workers demonstrate to demand jobs and lift the Israeli siege

Palestine – Hundreds of Palestinian workers demonstrated in the Gaza Strip on Monday, which marks World Labour Day, to demand official support as they suffer poverty and unemployment. Workers gathered in the central Saraya square in Gaza, waving banners that accuse the Palestinian Authority of failing to activate and support employment programs and provide financial and food aid to their families. The demonstrators urged the Palestinian government to provide official support to workers and their families and to launch temporary employment programs to reduce their unemployment rates. They also called for an end to the Israeli blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip 10 years ago.
