Jordan – The staff of Tafila Technical University protested to demand their right as they said that members of the administrative board should be permitted to apply for the seats allocated to Tafila University in other Jordanian universities just like the professors, they also demanded the university to manage the nursery and reduce its fees. They also called for the need to modify the job title of some administrators and to pay the work risks allowance for engineers, technicians, chefs and any employee whose job is characterized by work risks. During the sit-in in a tent erected in front of the university building, protesters demanded the provision of a package of services on campus such as providing a food area for the employees, re-engaging the husband or wife with health insurance, employ the day laborers who have completed four years of service and pay living expense allowances. They stressed that the president of the university will not enter the campus at all until their demands are met, pointing out that allowing the police and gendarmerie into the walls of the university is rejected and willexpose the university to warning penalty.
