Egypt – Al-Nasr Spinning and Weaving Company decided to terminate the service of Muhammad Badir Al-Sayed Al-Abd, who works in the financial sector of the Company without giving reasons for the dismissal of Decision No. 26 of 2017 issued yesterday. Center for Trade Union and Worker Services said in a statement that the employee Mohammed Al-Abd had posted on his private page on social networking (Facebook) an opinion poll among the employees of the company about the role of the General Union of textile workers in the cases of workers and whether workers agree with the continuation of the union or not. He added that this poll aims to show the workers opinion of the union. For his part, Mohammed al-Abd, said there is no other reasons for the dismissal, and stressed that he will not surrender to this unjust decision and that he will resort to the judiciary to return to work. Center for Trade Union and Worker Services declared its full solidarity with the dismissed worker Mohammed Al-Abd, asserting that this is an arbitrary dismissal that requires a legal response. The center stressed that the growing phenomenon of workers labour unionist abuse and dismissal from their jobs and the displacement of their families does not lead to stability in the country but leads to an increase in the state of public discontent and anger because workers are only using their right guaranteed by the Constitution and the law to hold their trade union organization responsible for their actions when they do not look after workers and only care for business owners and companies.
