Egypt: A Chemical Factory arbitrarily dismisses three workers

Egypt – Sinmar Chemical and Petrochemical Factory in Port Said arbitrarily dismissed three workers who are members of the trade union committee in the factory for standing with workers to claim their rights. The company filed a lawsuit against them on 3 May, carrying No. 6411 of 2017 from the administrative department of South Port Said, and were prevented from entering the factory on May 5, and all negotiations to resolve the crisis over the past two weeks failed. For his part, lawyer Osama al-Jawhari, a member of the workers defense, said that they will take some legal escalatory action against the management of the factory to ensure the return of dismissed union members and ensuring their rights and to prevent any anger outburst among workers.
