Morocco: cleaners denounce the non- implementation of their rights

Morocco – The trade union bureau of cleaning workers in Ouazzane issued a warning statement regarding the latest developments in their case, especially the working conditions after the previous forms of struggle that the workers fought in April, which included strikes and protest marches. The trade union statement criticized the companys lack of commitment to any agreements, from health insurance and the provision of suitable summer clothing for work, and providing them with the needed equipment, and the need to form internal rules to regulate the work within the company. The statement also condemned the lack of refunds, which was included in the agreement signed with the director of the company. The unions office pointed that the “company is confiscating the rights in collusion with some parties, the statement did not mention it by name. The statement said that some parties are taking advantage of this file to achieve narrow political goals which is not related to the benefit of workers despite the sacrifices they made.
