Algeria – Municipal workers affiliated to the municipal workers federation of the SNAPAP intend to enter into a ten-day strike every month starting from next Sunday, in response to the authorities disregard for the petition. The protest movement aims, according to the union, to raise its demands, which are mainly the revision of the civil service law and other basic laws, including the application of grants, as well as respect for freedom of trade union action and the right to strike, and integration of all contractors, including those with professional integration contracts. The Federation of Municipal Workers said in its statement that the municipal workers are the backbone of the Algerian administration, however they denied from their basic legitimate rights to run for local elections.
