Is early retirement going to be cancelled and is the age of the mandatory retirement going to increase insteadin Jordan?

According to a number of experts, it is expected that the social security institution in Jordan will make fundamental amendments on the Social Security Law, notably the abolition of early retirement.

Some experts say that there is a trend within the social security institution to consider new amendments to the law of the institution, most notably the abolition of early retirement and the abolition of exceptions in the security law (No. 1 of 2014)and consider reducing the rate of benefit from 2.5% to 2%, as well as raising the mandatory retirement age from sixty to sixty-five.

It is noteworthy that the Finance and Economic Committee in the Assembly of Senators recommended in the context of its endorsement mid last month of the State Budget Law of 2018 and balancing the government units with a number of recommendations, including the call for a thorough review of the law of social security, but without announcing the existence of the trend to cancel the early retirement permanently.
