Algeria – The National Union of Postal Workers has decided to protest in front of the General Postal Directorate at Bab Al-Zuwair to demand the return of trade unionists who have been dismissed from their jobs and the application of judicial rulings and respect for trade union freedoms. A statement by the National Union of Postal Workers said that almost a month ago, postal workers in the state of Bejaia were engaged in a strike to re employ unionist Eamar Unis, however fter 20 days of resistance to arbitrariness and struggle for the honor of the postal officer, no official from the postal Directorate bothered himself to meet with protesters to open a dialogue with them, on the contrary, they ignored the intervention of the labour inspector who tried to reach a solution. Moreover, the same officials ignored the Mayor of Bejaia who tried to find solutions to this issue. The National Union of Postal Workers accused postal officials of being arrogant to the point of wasting public money in order not to enforce court rulings.
