The National Union of Higher Education and University Workers of theDemocratic Confederation of Labourdecided to carry out a general strike on February 20 with a protest in front of the Moroccan Parliament to protest against the trial of its general secretary and member of the Council of Advisors “Abdel HaqHissan” and 4 journalists on the grounds of leaking “the secrets of the Fact-Finding Committee on the retirement file .
The employees of higher education also protest against the violation oftheir rights and the threats on gains of the sector, stopping the negotiation on the retirement file, and the professional and social issues accumulation in all sectors. They also ask for the establishment of a regulatory structure for the sector and fighting the financial and administrative corruption with respect for trade union rights, stressing their commitment to face the project of non-free education.
