A day of anger for electricity and gas workers in Iraq

At the invitation of the General Union of Electricity and Gas Workers of the General Union of Trade Unions of Iraq, yesterdaya protest march was organized for electricity and gas workers to demand the removal of a number of outstanding professional and social files.

The protesters asked through their banners and slogans to install all contracts,wages, the payment of all delayedsalaries for the current year and previous years and the implementation of the Council of Ministers No. 1of 2017 decision which it stipulates that the minimum monthly salary is 250 thousand dinars.

Protestors demandedto apply the latest salary ladder for employees and the inclusion of all contracts and wages retirement and social security and their inclusion in the provisions of the Labour Law No. 37 of 2015.

They stressed the need to find guarantees for their rights in the system of companies and the law of the Ministry of Electricity and Work with the investor and ensure that the violations will not continue, warning that if their demands were not met within a maximum of 15 days, they will escalate their protests.
