Morocco – The Democratic Confederation of Labour said that more than (150) workers from the Ministry of National Education are living in a disastrous situation because they have been deprived of their salaries for many months, which had a bad impact on their social and family stability.
The Confederation blamed the regional director for not paying the wages saying that he was irresponsible, although the local authority in the city tried to hold a meeting between the parties concerned with the file, however, the regional director has failed to attend, and violated the legally guaranteed rights of workers, adding the Confederation’s statement. The Confederation declared its absolute and unconditional solidarity with the workers and guard, cleaners, demanding authorities to provide decent working conditions based on decent living and equality. They also called on the responsible bodies in the Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Minister of Employment and the Local Authority to intervene immediately to pay the workers wages, and demanded to send a fact-finding committee and to punish those responsible for the situation.
