106th session of International Labour Conference starts today

A delegation representing the Arab Trade Union Confederation participates in the 106th session of International Labour Conference, which begins today at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, and lasts until 16th June 2017. More than 4,000 representatives of workers, employers and governments from the 187 member States of the ILO will address a wide range of issues. The first day of this session will witness the election of the President and Vice-President, followed by the opening speech of the Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO), Guy Ryder. The report of the Director-General for this year, entitled Work in a changing climate: The Green Initiative” is a roadmap for a just transition to a green economy.
