Egypt- Employees of the General Assembly for the Care of the Elderly in Damanhour entered into an open strike at the Welfare House in Al-Abbadia, against the inequality between them and the workers at orphans care, and to demand the application of Law 60/2016 on the minimum wage. The workers confirmed that their work and social and financial situation is poor and that the officials at the association do not respond to their demands. “Ibrahim” and “Bataa” both have been working in the center for 17 years and they both earn 400 E.P they both say that their salaries is only covering their transportation.
