Mauritania – The Inspection Directorate in the western state of Nouakchott said that Total Mauritania has no right to employ the contracting workers of its companies in the premises of its striking workers. The Directorate ordered the company to to respect the provisions of the Labour Law at all levels and reverse and decision taken in contrary to laws. He added in an explanatory letter sent to the company that the legal strike is a legal action in accordance with the legislation in force. The Directorate considered that if this was possible, the legitimate request was not made in accordance with the provisions of Article 360 of the Labour Code, It noted that the implementation of its work by workers for which they had not been appointed could only be achieved through a review of the contract of employment in accordance with the requirements of article 29 of the Mauritanian Labour Code.
