Morocco: Nurses Movement Calls for National Strike

Morocco – The nurses movement called for a 72-hour national strike on August 10 in all health services and institutions, with the exception of rehabilitation and emergency, with the possibility of entering an open sit-in outside the premises of the Ministry of Health in Rabat. A statement issued by the movement said that this strike comes in protest against the lack of political will of the current government and the Minister of Health. The movement reiterated the necessity of the actual recognition of the scientific and administrative equation in the official gazette, through the recognition of a similar nurse diploma authorized by the state on national leave, the opening of master and doctorate courses in Moroccan institutes and universities, And rearrange the upgrading and integration of nurses in the suitable levels for public service, with the creation of a special level outside the peace as an adjustment to the position of the imbalance, caused by the ministry through the procrastination intended.
