Tunisia – ILOs Geneva office witnessed the signing of the Decent Work Agreement between the Government, represented by the Minister of Social Affairs, Mohamed Trabelsi, and the Labour Union, represented by its Secretary-General Noureddine Téboubi and the Tunisian Union for Industry, Trade and Handicrafts, represented by FAO President Wadad Bouchmawi. The Secretary-General of the Labour Union, Noureddine Tabboubi, said that the signing of the Decent Work Components Agreement in Geneva is a new brick of success added to Tunisia, the workers and the customs. He stressed that the lesson of the agreement is how to translate the elements of decent work through reviewing the labour laws and the joint agreements with the government and motivate workers to productive production to increase the ability of enterprises to export and compete on the international level and enable the emergence of small and medium enterprises. Al-Taboubi stressed the importance of following a strategy of calm, responsible and serious dialogue to solve outstanding problems, taking into account the needs and benefits of each party away from the selfishness and tricks as he described it.
