Yemen : trade unions protest to demand late salaries

Yemen – More than 30 trade unions and a civil society organization in Taiz province announced that Thursday, July 21, is the date of the first protest, which will be held in the vicinity of Education Office, to demand salaries that have not been paid for more than 10 months ago. A statement issued by trade unions and labour institutions that they examine their escalatory options and holds the legitimate government full responsibility for any developments that the protest may incur as a result of its failure to fulfill its duty. The unions and organizations hold the government, led by Ahmed Obaid bin Dagher, President Abdu Rabbo Mansour Hadi, and the local authority, full responsibility for the suffering of state employees and residents of the governorate. They also called on the government to pay all delaid salaries. . It is noteworthy that the unions of teachers, lawyers, doctors, pharmacists, engineers and lawyers are the main unions that signed the statement, and are among the largest trade unions in the province of Taiz.
