Egypt: Egypt Spinning and Weaving Workers Refrain from Receiving Their Salaries

Egypt- Center for Trade Union & Workers Services said that workers of Egypt Spinning and Weaving Company in Mahalla Al-Kubra declined to receive their salaries for the month of July in protest against the non-payment of the special allowance approved for employees in the private and public sectors by 10% with a minimum of 165 pounds and a maximum of 330 pounds. The center added in a statement that workers were supposed to be paid their full salaries today, it is customary to start distributing salaries on the days of 17, 18 and 19 until the 20th of this month, however, the distributing of salaries started on the 20th and workers thought that the delay was due to the new allowances, but when they received their salaries the allowance was not included, it is known that the workers of the company get paid in two installments every 15 days.
