Saudi Arabia – The unemployment rate for Saudis is estimated at 12.7 percent in the first quarter of 2017, 7.2 percent for males and 33 percent for females. The number of jobseekers reached 906.552, of whom 219.017 were men, and 687,535 were females, according to the administrative records of government agencies. Half of Saudi job seekers hold a university degree, with 50.3 percent. The results indicated that 11.6 percent of unemployed Saudis had already worked, and that 31.6 percent of the unemployed Saudis had previously left work due to dismissal from the employer. It also contributes to the construction of a labour market database in the Kingdom that can be used in preparing and planning future social and economic development programs. The total unemployment rate in Saudi Arabia for those above 15 years old, according to the estimates of the Labour Force Survey during the first quarter of 2017, reached 12.7%.
