Egypt: Workers OF Damanhour carpet factory demand annual allowance

Egypt – Workers of the Damanhour factory , affiliated to the Egyptian Endowments Authority, entered into an open strike today to protest against the failure to pay the annual allowance estimated at 7% of the basic salary. About 600 workers stopped the factorys machines to denounce the administration’s abuse. The protesters stressed that the management of the factory is trying in all ways not to pay the periodic allowance like other similar companies, citing the allowances approved by President Al-Sisi recently.
