Jordan – Minister of Education Dr. Omar Al-Razzaz called for the opening of kindergartens in schools for teachers children. Al-Razzazs statement came on his Twitter page in response to a newspaper report about filing a lawsuit against an unregistered nursery. A mother of a one and a half year old girl is filing the lawsuit against the nursery that caused injuries to her daughter left her with a broken skull and leg. The mother who works as a teacher in a public school in Marka said that her daughter was brutally beaten in this illegal nursery two months ago, explaining that she had no other choice but to send her daughter to this nursery because it was close to her school where she works and that she did not know it was not licienced “it is time now to open nurseries for teacher’s children,” added the mother. A spokesman for the Ministry of Social Development, Dr. Fawaz Al-Rutrout, said that the aforementioned nursery is not licensed and that it was licensed but was suspended in 2013”. According Safa Balbaisy the lawyer of the family they filed a case of abuse and neglect against the nursery. “The child was admitted to the nursery on 12 May. The girl was injured on the first day of her enrollment,” the lawyer said. The mother was not aware that the nursery was not licensed, especially because it has a sign, which gives the impression that it is legal and licensed.
