Algeria: Ain and Sara hospital workers demand the immediate release of their colleagues from prison to end the strike

Algeria –  The workers of Ain and Sara Hospital refused the initiative of Director of Health and Population, who engaged a direct dialogue with them in attempts to end the protest and abandon the decision to resign collectively. The protestors are from the doctors, nurses and wire workers  confirmed to  director of health the need to release their colleagues from prison for being  accused of the  death of women and her fetus a few days ago, saying that they will not end the protest. In the same context, the protests continued in the health sector in the state of Djelfa, where protests from Ain and Sara passed to Hassi Bahbah, sources confirmed that the mass resignation of health practitioners at Hassi Bahbah Hospital has so far reached 235 doctors, nurses and workers. It is noteworthy that the sit-in and uprising and the collectively resignation of dozens of health practitioners, came after the arrest of 60 staff, including 30 midwives, a doctor and a nursing assistant on the case of the death of mother and fetus, a case that shook the health sector, especially that the victims family accused 3 Hospitals in Ain, Sara and Hassi Bahbah and the state capital of negligence and non-reception of the victim for delivery , as she gave birth in a private car and she passed away along with her  baby, which sparked a wave of anger in the health sector.
